A Day at the Beach

One of my most favorite places in the world to go is Sandbanks Provincial Park but always referred to by us as Picton beach. As much as I could, when my sons were growing up, we would head to the beach for the day. Sun, sand, piggy-back fights in the water and a peaceful ride home as they slept in the back seat all slightly sun-burned but feeling very content. Great memories.
Now that they are grown and in college (and probably not wanting to spend a day at the beach with Mom and Dad), we hope to make new memories there with just the two of us.
Today was a great day. Windy and clear, it was a perfect day to stroll the beach to see what the tide had left from the winter. Surprisingly, the beach was pretty vacant for the first sunny weekend of spring, so we had it mostly to ourselves to stroll and and enjoy a wonderful day!

Hope your Easter weekend is as good as ours!

Sunny Good Friday in Prescott

Checking out our backyard again today, we managed to stumble through Gananoque and landed in the beautiful town of Prescott. Who knew?
Prescott is the owner of a rich history dating back hundreds of years. Noted places of interest are Fort Wellington National Historic Site and the Battle of the Windmill. It is a very picturesque town with lots to see on a sunny spring afternoon. We plan to visit again this summer.
Here are a few pics from our lovely day:
